Simplicity is the name with traditional bed frames. They usually consist of some wrought iron pieces and pine wooden bed slats for support. As effective as this usually is, it isn’t the most appealing piece of furniture to look at. Instead of making the bed frame an afterthought as usual, many companies have decided to make the frame a center piece. Centering the frame on the traditional set up is still done by many companies, but a different route has been taken by others.

Many companies have gone to bed platforms instead of the traditional bed frame. Usually this is much more appealing visually, even though it offers the same support as a bed frame does. Owners can look at nice furnished pieces of wood instead of starting at a wrought iron support structure. The finishes on this style of bed can vary greatly, as can the styles themselves. Solid colors like black and white are available in addition to traditional wood designs.

An easy support structure is at the base of a bed platform and any room style can be matched. The entire room can be designed up front and a bed platform to match can be filled in to finish it off. Instead of using a bed frame when you are redesigning your bedroom, make sure you move to a bed platform. The style alone is worth the change.
