It is important to get a good variety of plants along with those that flower at different times if you wish to keep butterflies in your yard. You can add butterfly bushes or even butterfly house make great resting spots which will encourage butterflies to live in your garden. Butterflies have no internal temperature regulation so make sure you place the house where it can get lots of sun. Butterflies need warmth to live. You can also get butterfly feeders where you add special nectar to allow your butterflies a place to land and feed, similar to a humming bird feeder. These feeders can be quite beautiful and ornate on their own! It is important that you reduce the amount of chemicals you use on your lawn and gardens if you wish to have butterflies.
