The dairy state (AKA Wisconsin) offers a number of really unique places to visit. Wisconsin offers some beauty and uniqueness in it’s outdoor settings. The state parks are well kept up with and most of them provide camping, hiking, and biking opportunities. Often thought of as one of the flat states, it is actually quite far from that truth. These two well known state parks allow you to enjoy the bluffs that were left after the glaciers receded.
Devil’s Lake State Park is the most popular of the parks, offering incredible rocky bluffs surrounding the lake itself. This state park is by far the largest of all of the state parks in Wisconsin. This lake has been admired as early as when the native peoples of Wisconsin built their effigy mounds in the part. The park also boasts a number of hiking trails ranging from easy to stenuous. The view of the lake and surrounding area is one of the reasons to try the hiking trails that go both up and down the side of the bluffs. The lake has two beaches were you can swim or rent canoes and rowboats to enjoy. You can also camp overnight in devils lake with plenty of individual camping sites, along with an area for large groups. The history of this park is incredible.
